Mummy, where are you? =(

Suddenly the house is so empty with no one to give me treats, no one to secretly sneak onto the bed with, and most importantly, no one to update my blog!

Jie Jie says you've gone off to some far off place for business. Why didn't you take me with you?? =( I am such an unhappy dog.

Come back soon Mummy! Toto and I miss you.

The Big Walk

Its here! Its here!

The morning began nice and early. Mummy woke us up and started getting us ready really early. She says we have to get there early or we won't find a place to park the car. So we got there nice and early but there were other doggies who were even earlier.

Look! There were so may doggies and their family around. All kinds of breeds, sizes and shapes. So exciting. I had a great time sniffing furbutts and making new friends.

Look at all those doggies and their family

Other doggies waiting for the big start

Mummy registered us for the walk and we got a goodie bag. There were loads of things in the goodie bag. There were dog food, cookies and even a nice leather lead. Personally, I liked the cookies best.

After the registration we hung around poking around and making friends while waiting for the BIG walk to start.

Hanging around

Toto and I waiting for the flag off. Those blue bags are our goodie bags.

The big flag off! There were so many dogs angling to be the first to start off. It was like a long choo choo train of doggies and their family.

Both Toto and I started off at a run. It was great fun. We tugged at our leads to join the doggies in the front of the train. But of course, Mummy who was holding my lead couldn't keep up and I had to humour her by holding back. Toto was luckier. Jie Jie was holding his lead and the both of them ran to the front of the pack and lead the rest of us along the path. Doggies stopped every now and then to sniff at the stuff along the pathway and of course each other as well. Some even pooped making their parents stop to scoop up the poopie. And of course, all of us peed at one time or another.

Finally we reached the end which was also the starting poing of the walk. There is a big dog run there and our parents took us in and let us off our leads. Toto and I both ran around sniffing at the interesting things. We also made friends with other doggies who were also running around.

Here I am roving around

Here's Toto among all the other doggies

After all the excitement Toto and I were just exhausted. At the end the both of us were just lying in the cool mud (Mummy wasn't pleased) and resting.

I am already dreaming of next year's Dog Walk when I can come here and do it all over again.

My Kor Kor The Star!

My Kor Kor is a big star! This week my brother premiered in his school play before a packed audience of friends and family. As usual Toto and I were not invited.

My Kor Kor acted the role of Kurt von Trapp in the play The Sound of Music. It is a story about how a noviate (her name is Maria) went to work as a governess for the von Trapp family children. The von Trapp family are a family of 7 (yes seven!) children. My Kor Kor is one of the kids. Can you imagine how many treats their father will have to get to reward them!!

Anyway the father is a mean old sea captain that treats his children like they were his sailors on his ship. Can you imagine he whistled on a loud whistle when he wanted his kids. My parents never did that to me and I'm a furkid!!

Well to cut a long story short, and this is where it gets soppy and eeky! Girls would like this part. Maria managed to win over the hearts of all 7 children. Not only that she made the mean ole Captain fall in love with her. Ha! Ha! Sick! Eeky! All this love stuff.

The exciting part only came when the Captain had to report to the Nazi naval place and become a Nazi Captain. This was all set during the big war that happened way before I was born. The Captain didn't want to become a Nazi so he and his family (Maria and all 7 children) ran away. They were chased by the bad Gestapo but they managed to escape over the mountains into another country.

My Kor Kor singing his heart out.

And here he is singing with meanie Captain, Maria and the other 6 children

Mummy says that Kor Kor had a lot of hidden talents. He could dance and sing and act! Wish they let me go and see him.

I'm So Excited

I'm so excited. I can hardly wait. The local radio station is once again having a Dog Walk. They had one last year and my parents took me. It was really exciting. There were so many furkids and their parents around. I had a great time making friends and sniffing furbutts.

Mummy says we can go again this year. Toto had not been adopted last year so he didn't go. This year will be the first time he is going. I have been telling him all about it and he's also very excited.

Calling all Singapawean dogs! Come to the Dog Walk. We can have a right roaring time. Hope to see you all there.

Happy Easter

Don't eat too many easter eggs now. And stay away especially from those yummy chocolate ones. Mummy says they will make us furkids sick.

Bad Boy Scruffy

I have been a very bad boy. I have been too lazy to update my blog for a while. Please, please, please forgive me. Actually also nothing much has been happening.

Last week, my Mummy was sick. She had a throat infection and she spent 3 days away from work. She was really lazy too. All she did during those few days was lie in bed and groan and sound funny. She didn't even play with us much. She says she's too sick. Actually I think she was bluffing. She didn't seem very sick when she watched all the old series for CSI on TV. Anyway now she is better and she also sounds normal.

My Mummy has been moaning and groaning about something else though. She keeps on going on and on about being very lonely. Lonely my foot. She has Toto and I right. Anyway, she says that now Jie Jie and Kor Kor are growing up, they no longer want to go out with her and do things with her. So she is very lonely at home with only Daddy for company. She keeps forgetting about us. Bad Mummy. Anyway, to make her feel better I have been extra good and have kept close to her keeping her company.

Anyway there is one very exciting news though. My good friend Balboa gave me a funky blog award. Thank you soooooo much Balboa.

Singapore Flyer

On Tuesday Mummy and Daddy went for a ride on the Singapore Flyer. What do you ask is the Singapore Flyer. Well its a giant size ferris wheel. It is very very tall. Much much taller than me. Its supposed to be the tallest on in the world right now.

Then there are these little cages on the wheel and hoomans go inside them. Then the wheel turns taking the hoomans up up into the sky. Quite exciting. I wish I could go. But as usual, some hoomans are so un-dog-friendly. They don't allow furkids. Its not fair.

Mummy says it moves really slowly but the view is very very good. She wasn't scared at all. So brave. She could almost see our house (and me of course) from the top. Daddy as usual was too busy taking photos of the flyer and the wheel. Here are some of his photos. Sorry about the wierd colour but they were taken at dusk. Also the funny curved bits is because he used his fish eye lens. Hmmm! Interesting. Do you think Daddy actually caught a fish and took its eye. Then put the eye on his camera.

The flyer is actually not open to the public yet. But Daddy says they are going again (without me as usual) during the day when the flyer is open to the public this weekend. He says that you can even see Malaysia and Indonesia from it during the day.

Singapore Flyer from the ground.

View of Singapore's skyline from the little cages in the wheel. Here is a picture of one of the cages. Quite scary! My parents were actually in one of these things.

Finally! Happy Birthday To Me!!!

Finally! I get my birthday cake. I had 2 candles. One more than Toto. Its because I'm the older brother. Here are some videos of my birthday celebration.

Here is Jie Jie, Kor Kor and Jie Jie's boy friend, Impy Kor Kor singing me my birthday song. Not too melodious but I love it anyway.

Here is another one of me cutting my birthday cake. I wasn't very cooperative as you can see but I was already salivating at the thought of the cake.

And finally one of us feasting on cake. I eat mine so gentlemenly but Toto is just a greedy pig - gobbling it down.

Where is Jie Jie?

My Jie Jie has gone MIA!!! I have not seen her for 10 days already. All she does is wake up, go to school, come home in the middle of the night. And it has gone on for the last 10 days.

Mummy is getting very upset with her. So am I!!! We were supposed to have got my birthday cake last weekend but because Jie Jie was not even around during the weekend, we didn't get it. We wanted to celebrate as a whole family. Bad Jie Jie!!

Abuse! Abuse! Child Abuse!

I hate my Mummy!! She's mean!! She's cruel!! She's abusive!!

For no reason whatsoever she took Toto and I to the VET today. And we got jabs!!!! I don't even feel sick. I don't see why I have to get jabbed.

My cruel Mummy claims that it is good for us to have the jabs. She says its to vacinate us against nasty illness and we need to do this once a year, every year. Why do I need it?! I am big and strong and healthy. I can fight all the nasty diseases.

The only saviour is that Toto the big baby cried when the vet jabbed him. Ha! Ha! He squealed like a baby!!! I was brave. I didn't make any noise whatsoever. But it did hurt.

I'm going to sulk and not speak with my Mummy for the rest of today. That will teach her to be so mean to me. Taking me for jabs I don't need.

Chinese New Year & My Birthday

The whole of last week was really quite exciting. First we had Chinese New Year (CNY). Did you know that the CNY is actually celebrated for a full 15 days. But the most important days are of course the first and second day. This is the time when we go to our older relatives' homes to wish them Gong Xi Fa Cai, pay our respects with Mandarin oranges and to collect ang pow. What is ang pow you say. Well its a very quaint hooman custom that during the CNY, the married people give unmarried little red packets containing money!! Real cool this custom. Unfortunately both Toto and I didn't get any.

For our CNY we first visited Poh Poh's house in the morning. Mummy brought Mandarin oranges and we all said Gong Xi Fa Cai to Poh Poh. It was really quite fun. We raced up and down her house and poked our noses into every crook and crany. Very interesting.

After that we went to Mah Mah and Kong Kong's house. Once again Mummy brought Mandarin oranges and we all said Gong Xi Fa Cai. We love Mah Mah and Kong Kong's house. It has a huge garden and their neighbours had other furkids too. We raced up and down the garden and made friends with their neighbour's furkids.

Later in the afternoon, Daddy's aunties, uncles and many cousins all came over and paid respects as well. There were loads of kids around. The boy cousins also brought along a football and Toto and I played football with them in the garden. Meantime, Jie Jie and Kor Kor went around collecting ang pows from all the uncles and aunties and the married cousins. They seem to be pleased with their "takings" for the day. I sure hope they buy some pressies for us with their loot. After all they didn't do anything and they got money!!

Altogether it was a really exciting day. We went home in the evening and we were all real tired.

Did you know that during the CNY there is a special dish that is eaten by every one. My family had it during the Reunion dinner before the CNY. Its called Yu Sheng or Raw Fish. Its a dish filled with vegetable and pieces of raw fish that is mixed with crispy crullers and a dressing. While the dish is being prepared, good wishes and blessings are said over the dish so that whoever eats it also gets the wishes and blessings. However before its eaten everyone uses their chopsticks and tosses the salad really high into the air. Its to make wishes and blessings to all around the dinner table.

Yu Sheng being prepared before the BIG toss
Then my birthday came along. I was really surprised. You remember my Mummy asked if I wanted to celebrate on my birthday or have a belated one so that I can get a cake like Toto did last year. So on my birthday morning I didn't expect anything special. But I was really surprised. I got loads of presents. I got my favourite treats and a new squeaky toy. I love those squeaky toys.

See my birthday presents
Not only that Mummy made me a special dinner that day. I had beef steak. Wow! Yummy! I never had my own beef steak before.

Me gobbling down my steak dinner

Anyway all in all it was a wonderful birthday. And I still get to celebrate one more time this weekend when Mummy will get me my cake.

Eat your heart out Toto! I celebrate twice. You only celebrated once.

Chinese New Year

The Chinese Lunar New Year is tomorrow. Mummy says its going to be the year of the Rat. This year is the year of the Pig. There will be many celebrations and good things to eat over the new year.

It is also very important for Chinese to have a Reunion Dinner with all the family on the eve of the New Year. Its a time for everyone in the family to come home from near and far and sit down together for a huge slap up meal. Tonight we will be having our Reunion Dinner. Mummy normally cooks the Reunion Dinner at home and I get to eat all the good stuff that she will for sure pass to me surreptitiously. But this year, Mummy is not cooking. Its going to be at a restaurant and I DON'T GET TO GO!!!! Its not fair, I am family too!! Why can't I go? Sulk! Sulk!

Its my birthday coming up this Sunday. Mummy asked me if I wanted to celebrate it on that day or to have a belated celebration. The reason is that she wants to get me this yummy cake for my birthday with 2 candles. But the bakery is closed for the Chinese New Year until 12 February which is after my birthday. I am opting for the yummy cake!! I sure hope its worth the wait.

I would also like to update you on Toto's operation. He now has no boy bits. Ha! Ha! He weathered through the operation like it was nothing. When he came back, he was back to his greedy pigginess and had a whopping huge meal. The anaesthetic didn't affect him at all. He is running around like it never happened. That's my brother for you!!

I would like to wish all my furfriends and their hoomans

May you all have a prosperous and happy new year of the Rat!!

Poor Toto

Guess what! Mummy tells me that this weekend Toto is having his boy bits taken out. I had mine done ages ago. And if I remember correctly, Toto will hate it.

First, he can't eat or drink from the night before. Mummy says this is because they will put Toto under general anaesthetic. This makes him go to sleep and not feel the pain.

Then he will wake up and feel really whoosy and sleepy for the rest of the day. And worst of all, the lampshade!! He will have to wear it at least 2 weeks.

Poor Toto! My heart goes out to him.

Silly Toto

Yesterday, our parents brought the whole family to Tanjong Beach. It was a very hot and muggy afternoon. I was panting and panting as it was really hot. When we finally got to the beach, I could hardly wait for my Kor Kor and Jie Jie to change so that they can take me to the sea. Finally into the cold cold sea - I leapt in.

Meanwhile Toto thought he was Superman and followed me jump in as well. This is where he became totally silly. That twit, he kept drinking the sea water. Lapping it up with his greedy tongue. Daddy told him not to do it and that he would get sick, but did he listen - no he did not. True enough, when we went to rest on the beach with Mummy, that silly brother of mine puked his guts out. Serves him right for not listening to Daddy.

But that's not the end of his silliness. When we got home, Toto suddenly started shivering and wouldn't stop. And horrors - he didn't want to eat his dinner. This is very very very unusual as we all know how greedy Toto is. Food is his first love. And sea water it seems!!

Mummy got real worried and kept holding him and covering him with a warm towel. I have to say I got rather jealous and wished I was sick too. Daddy said it was probably all the sea water he insisted on drinking and exhaustion. He is littler than I so he's not so used to hectic activity. Anyway, luckily after all the mothering Mummy gave him he felt better. After sleeping the whole night, today he is right as rain and gobbling down his breakfast like he always does. I sure hope he learnt his lesson and listen to Daddy next time. But I know my brother, he will forget and do exactly the same thing the next time we go. That silly boy!!

Its now 2008. A brand new year. I thought that as a first post for the year, I would share some recent pictures which my Daddy took.

Here's one of my Mummy and I.

I love you Mummy! You are such a nice soft pillow.

Hark! Who goes there?

How do you like my bling bling collar? Mummy made it out of teeny weeny beads and crystals for me. I only wear it for special occasions.

So that Toto doesn't feel left out here's one of him.
